Napa, Calif.,  November 11, 2008 – Napa Farmhouse 1885™ – the virtual and literal destination for “living a green life of style ™” – announced today the launch of Woofie Treats™ as the ultimate holiday must-have for four legged friends of the canine perspective.  The popular handcrafted, organic dog treats known until now only by Napa Valley insiders, are available nationwide through www.napafarmhouse1885.com. 

“I started making these treats years ago as a way to ensure my golden retriever's diet was as healthy as possible, and made an extra batch to give to friends as Christmas presents,” said Napa Farmhouse 1885™ Founder, Diane Padoven.  “I discovered that every dog - even the really picky ones - gobbled them up.  Their human parents constantly asked for more so I decided to make them available for purchase.”

The handcrafted treats are 100% vegetarian – and 100% delicious - made with whole wheat flour*, cornmeal*, rolled oats*, unbleached flour*, extra virgin olive oil*, honey*, parsley*, mint*, wheat germ, sea salt, baking powder and egg wash* (*= items are certified organic by Quality Assurance International, QAI).  Each batch of Woofie Treats™ is lovingly packaged in reusable glass mason jars, tagged with Napa Farmhouse’s signature re-imagined and repurposed labels made from recycled magazine pages and tied with renewable sisal rope.  How green it is.

     Woofie Treats™ are available nationwide for $9.00 in a 4oz jar or $14.00 for an 8oz batch.

About The Napa Farmhouse 1885 Name

 

Named factually after Padoven’s Napa, California-based Victorian farmhouse, the more “organic” detailed story about the name has to do with living out her dream.  “I grew up in southern California and my grandparent’s 1920’s Spanish-style home was the catalyst for my lifetime love of older homes,” Padoven explains.  After casually viewing some of Napa Valley’s Victorian homes, a real estate agent emailed some local listings to Padoven.  She was instantly hooked on what is now famously known as ‘Napa Farmhouse 1885.’ “I opened the email and the first house I saw was my dream house - not a big house, but perfect for two adults and a big dog with enough room for friends and family.  My husband and I decided to chuck it all, sell our San Francisco home and move here full time.  Our farmhouse has been the key to all recent changes in our life and I look forward to continuing to share my stories and experiences,” she promises.

About The Founder

 

Padoven, a former corporate executive with 20 years of experience in retail and fashion, launched the online site and blog in early 2008 out of her own desire to “experience real life after retiring” from her corporate career.  “After years of 80 hour work weeks and constant travel, one year later I realize that I am having a really good time, am always busy -- how did I ever fit in a job -- and have a creative outlet to share experiences, recipes, and wonderful items that authentically represent ‘living a green life of style,’” Padoven explains.  “We are in start-up mode, very entry level and we want this to be a two-way dialog.  Join us on our journey.”
